Competition Information
We try and put on two competition heats a year for Floor & Vault. Clubs that are affiliated to Yorkshire General gymnastics can enter these competitions, gymnasts can be entered as individuals & also in a team.
We did our first General 4-piece competition in 2021 and after the success of it, we now have other apparatus events .
Meet the Team
This general gymnastics competitions goes on how many hours the gymnast trains a week from 1 hour (intro), 2 hours (inter), 4 hours (Adv) and 4 hours+ (Adv+).
In this Boys competition they will perform a floor routine which contains 10 skills on a strip of floor, they will also perform two vaults. Tariff and criteria content can be found on the handbook page. Boys can be entered as individuals and as a team of a maximum of 5.

(Previously named Novice/Novice+)
The Opal & Opal + competition is a 4 piece apparatus competition.The Opal competition is for gymnasts that have only done General gymnastics competitions but are performing well throughout the competitions and may want to see how they would fair in a 4 piece competition and if going down the WA pathway is for them.The Opal + competition is for gymnasts that have done very little WA competitions or have been out of the WA pathway for some time.

This is a progressive 4 PC competition for those gymnasts that have been successful at the Opal/ foundation competitions and are looking for the next challenge. In this competition children are encouraged to add a tumble to their floor routine, compete on both bars, as well as competing a more challenging vault and beam routine. These gymnasts may have previously/ currently competed at other 4PC competitions.
Diamond

This is the next competition onwards from the crystal, gymnasts will look to enter this competition once they’re medalling at crystal and are looking for more challenges. This competition offers more challenging bar and beam routines, vault options and floor will now be looking at putting Salto based routines together.

This is where the tinsel comes out!
Our last competition on the year is a fabulous fun Christmas competition, where a team of 4 gymnasts compete on 2 pieces each and they can choose from Floor, Vault, A-Bars or Beam.
The top score will go towards the team total. You can take a team for each age and category.
